Field Notes: Gary Linden

Definitely a career highlight to date! I directed this short film which profiled big wave legend Gary Linden, who is building surfboards with Kevlar® to help big wave surfers stay safe. Best known for its use in ballistic and stab-resistant body armor, DuPont™ Kevlar® has helped to save the lives of thousands of people around the world. DuPont wanted to make Kevlar a key player in the Action Sports community so they partnered with XGames (ESPN) to create a series of ‘Dare Bigger Profiles’ on extreme athletes who had used Kevlar in their gear. We followed Gary and Nic Lamb, a professional big wave surfer, to Todos Santos, Baja, to test the Kevlar boards in big waves. Check out my field notes from the trip.
