butterflies&zebras update

I went back to Connecticut to paint the butterflies&zebras store. My two co-painters were called Peter and Jaws. Peter owns a interior painting company in LA. He does windows for clients like Louis Vuitton and paints many famous people's houses. Ozzy Osbourne is his favorite client. They spent eight days telling me very rude jokes, smoking and drinking beer, but they also taught me about interior design too. We got off to quite a slow start as we had to prime and paint the shop white ( I did take one day off and went to Ikea to buy light fittings, picture frames and a lot of pink trinkets). After 2 days of boring wall and floor painting we kicked off the fun stuff by buying the brightest pink paint we could find. The idea was to paint swarms of butterflies around the top of the store, and it is looking really nice. The quote we are painting on the wall is a part of the Jimi Hendrix song 'Little Wing' where the inspiration for the shop name came from. "Well, she's walking through the clouds, With a circus mind that's running wild, Butterflies and Zebras, and moonbeams and fairy tales. That's all she ever thinks about. Riding with the wind."
